The
Commission members have a range of professional
qualifications and practical experience of providing
care in our Archdiocese. |
| The Social Care
Office helps the people of the Archdiocese by: |
- offering an information service regarding
aspects of care to enquirers
- publishing Care Matters, a quarterly newsletter,
with information about forthcoming events and
highlighting particular caring activities
- helping people acquire the skills needed to
care more effectively, particularly in bereavement
befriending, visiting the elderly, parenting,
dealing with the victims of domestic abuse and
caring for adults at risk
- coordinating carers by publishing an Archdiocesan
Care Directory (currently being revised), drawing
together different groups, organising workshops
for specific groups
- helping pople to develop a spirituality of
caring through courses and our Annual Lecture
